Two dogs that are OFA'd Excellent do not necessarily produce a pup with excellent hips. The latest studies believe
that feeding a pup high protein foods along with higher calcium levels causes them to grow much too quickly. Read what
the new studies are saying about this.

Some things to consider before getting a puppy......
1) Be prepared to be tired, especially the first week as puppy gets used to his new environment. They usually do not
sleep through the night. No matter how tired you are, you may have to get up and take them outside in the middle of the night.
2) Be prepared to be inconvenienced. You need to watch your puppy and stop what you are doing to take him outside (no
matter what the weather.) Your puppy will need to go outside when he wakes up and after he eats. 3) Be sure
not to change the pup's food right away. Give him what he is used to, and then gradually mix what you will be feeding
him with what he is used to eating. Never feed higher than 26 percent protein to a puppy or an adult dog. 4) Be
patient and kind. Puppy doesn't know the rules. It is your job to teach. They are babies. It will take them a bit to understand
what it is you want them to do. 5) Try to be consistent. Use the same words for the same behavior. Talk to the others
in the family, and come to an agreement. This will make training much easier. Do this before you bring your pup home.
